I posted on my twitter/facebook a status update last night thinking about how the inevitable blanket news coverage of Michael Jackson's death could have come at a bad time for Iran, pushing the Iran election protests etc out of the News at a time when the protesters need to be heard & supported etc etc - saying "MJ was a legend - but lets not forget about iran right now - they need our support and attention right now" & "if BBC and CNN etc are flooded with MJ stuff over the weekend - need to keep supporting iran and protestors when its CRUCIAL keep it moving". Don't get me wrong, MJ was an absolute legend obviously, and his death is a shock and I'm v sad about it like everyone else... but I think it needed saying....
Anyway, every now and then I get super-wierdo messages from people like this on facebook or (more usually) myspace so thought I'd share it with you ;-)
I saw the guy filming this, with a TINY nokia phone, but he was a pretty good cameraman by the looks of things... Here you see me dropping my new track "Robot Lover", doing a little dance, and you can admire my belly.
More photos! This lot are from my gig a couple of weeks back in Ulm, Germany for the Nu Noize party - where I was invited over to play a 4/4 ElectroTechnoRoboPunk80sWhateverTheFeCKILike set - as opposed to DNB... ;-)
As you can see, it was rammed, hot, and disco-tastic! Thanks to all the fabulous people that came down and robotixed it out!
So I finally got all the photos together, gathered (with the kind help of my Russian fans & friends on vKontakte.ru) from lots of gallery websites, all Russian ones I find impossible to translate ;-)
As you can see it was an amazing show, ROASTING in there, so much so they got me 2 huge fans which worked a treat - except they blew my CDs about ;-) Had no time to hang around afterwards either, there's only one flight a day out of Nizhny Novgorod on a decent airline (i.e not a scarey Russian one!) at about 5 am - so I had to literally jet right out of there as soon as my set was done - straight to the airport, with all my makeup on and rave-dirt etc! Got a few funnny looks at Passport control but managed to totally sort myself out and get changed in the wierd little airport bathroom before the flight took off. I think I was only on the ground for about 4 hours from the point of landing in Russia to taking off again - that's a proper rave-commute ;-)
Anyway - here's some of the photos below, and as always you can see the whole gallery on my flickr gallery, facebook AND myspace (yes I spend a lot of time uploading stuff!)
Just spotted this on twitter this morning courtesy of Atrak - was hoping it would surface eventually, there were enough cameras in there and we did our best to get in front of them! LOL.
This was filmed when I was in Miami with Hayley, at the Ciroc Vodka Party hosted by the mighty P Diddy & Felix Da Housecat & Junior Sanchez during the daytime at the Victor Hotel, super VIP Pool binziz. We got there nice and early and had the best day evvvar - just lounging listening to genius music and being fed yummy vodka drinks, getting deeerrrunk and then attempting to dance...
Anyway - cheggggit (I'm in it for about 1 second at 0:53 - Hayley's bum is in it all over...)
I've been trying to clear the backlog of old unedited videos off my old camera before I ditch it on ebay - found this gem today... Footage from my gig in Budapest at Club Diesel back in October 2008, but more importantly the TRIP TO THE ZOO. Strange animal noises aplenty ;-)
Just thought I'd post up a few photos from Romania on Friday seeing as it was a bit of a random trip!
The gig was great, which is the important part, totally rammed, to the point where it was just sooooooo hot in there, my clothes are STILL soaking wet and its Monday! Got to the point though where all my makeup had run into my eyes and I couldn't see properly!
And, well the hotel is worthy of a mention - I really needed a good long sleep after the gig, to the point where we'd changed the flights so I could just pass out till the 5pm flight back to London, but well - the hotel was a bit more like Dracula's Grannie's ghoulish Guesthouse, so I ditched that plan and went straight back on the 8am flight, on no sleep, completely mashed! Filmed the hotel to remember the glorious experience... see below ;-)
Gotta say thanks to all the clubbbers that came out to the gig though, despite the dodgy hotel and no sleep/flight mix-ups it was good to come and play to such a good crowd, and I'm still friends with the organisers! Next time its the Hilton baby! ;-)
