Quick post just to let you know I've redesigned and updated the www.john-b.com site & the Beta Recordings site AND all the other labels sites too...
Been really busy actually - thought it was long overdue that I actually got something up at www.john-b.com instead of it just redirecting to the Beta Recordings website (which is looking a bit old now to be brutally honest) - so I've been reading up on web design and actually did it myself!
The other ones are all pretty simple - but I think its good to tie everything in together and get a base to build up Tangent & Nu Electro in their own right, and get some more excellent music out there...
Had a pretty cool weekend - contrasted the mega club glamour of Circus on Friday night and Mark Moore's amazing Italo Disco extravaganza at Escape in Soho on Saturday with some proper English Village activities... YES YES THE LITTLEWICK SHOW.
Got the gang together and went to a big field near my house with lots of marquees and random village fair stuff. Line Dancing Grannies, The Handsomest Dog show, Cake Decorating competition winners, giant onions and most importantly the FERRET IN THE BIN! Every year they have some family who keep ferrets, and they have a little race track for them, and a sideshow where they put the ferret in the bin and you have to bet which hole he'll come out of! Hahahah! Genius...
Hope you managed to catch my session on Radio 1 last night - if not you still can by doing the 'listen again' thing on the BBC Radio 1 Website here...
As I mentioned before they were filming us too, and here's the video. As predicted I look super dodgy - serious double-chin bizniz going on - must get down the gym this week!!
Just got back home after a bit of a mission - played at club Prive in Tallinn last night... No sleep and a 6am departure back this morning pretty much straight from the club! I'll be going to bed in a sec...
Gotta say it was an amazing vibe in there - best crowd I've played to in a bit - really good energy! Thanks everyone! Man it was hot onstage though - my makeup was all over the place by the end of it!
Big up to SS as well and Happy Birthday man...
Every club should have a wall of John B plasma TVs...
Dazed this morning 5am.
Wasn't sure if this was a hallucination or a moose. Or a deer. Or Breakfast. Helsinki about 7am.
Went to the BBC on Monday evening to hook up with Nerm & D-Code and record my guest mix and interview for the show that's going out on Thursday night (2-4am UK Time) on Radio 1 as part of their 'In New DJs We Trust' show.
They had me in there with Dubstep genius Rusko, who also did a mix and interview too - we were all just generally joking around in the studio - think it'll make pretty good radio - although Nerm was getting a bit sexuallllll with us... You'll see... Hope I don't sound like a twat!
Got on really well with Rusko though - and found out he lives just up the road from me, so we're gona have a bash at a track together - his style of dubstep is pretty electro-ey so I think it could be FABBBUUUULOUS!
There was a guy in there filming the whole session too - that'll be up on the BBC website on Thursday too and I'll be able to post a link here too.
Here's me posing in the (v hot studio) with a slightly bemused Rusko looking on...
Had a fun weekend - took Hayley to my big gig in Poland, for Creamfields in a little town called Wroclaw (no idea how you actually pronounce that!). Was good to catch up with all the other guys on the bill - Spor, MC Lowqui, High Contrast etc were all on the same flight as us & shared the ryanair experience...
We'd bumped into Commix, Logistics, Marcus, Stamina etc etc at Scala the night before for the DNBA Gold party - but missed a few in Poland as our set times were so far apart. I think Goldie must have gone straight to Stansted from the Scala, on the plane to Poland for Creamfields, then back the same night to get ready for that BB2 conducting tv show. Now THAT's hardcore!
They'd had a hurricane during the day and all main stage acts got cancelled - but luckily we were in a tent so still got to play - although MAN that place was super mudpit stylee. I had the hotel laundry bags over my shoes the whole time - looked like a tramp!
Here it is - your chance to play a vital role in deciding the outcome of the most important poll in dance music.
DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs Poll is taken so seriously by clubbers, promoters and DJs worldwide for one reason - because it is a 100% public vote.
I could really do with your support here guys - DnB never really gets a look in in this chart, especially not the super John B Electrostep angle - so please vote!
All voters will receive a free track from Trackitdown worth (£1.49) and a free digital copy of DJ Mag! To take advantage of this great offer just place your vote and check your email for the confirmation which will contain more information.
Results announced at a glittering party in London on Wednesday 29th October
Have just sent this out as a big email newsletter so you may have already read it! Lots of cool new news!

Exclusive Video for "When The Time Comes" on YouTube
After the resounding success of Mr. Freud/ Red Sky topping the drum and bass arena chart for a month, and hanging around in the beatport dnb top 10 for just as long, super producer & DJ John B is ready to give you another taster from his new album in the workings TRN ME ON.
Continuing to push his personal and stylistic boundaries, When the Time Comes and Dancing in the Dark blaze into a new more mature direction for the maverick. This is music made for centre stage arenas; and the definitive thinking mans drum and bass.
When the Time Comes starts out as a simple idea, exceptionally executed. It subtly builds bubbling analogue arpeggios contrasting with the crisp phuture-808 drums. It is beautifully crafted drum and bass, inspired into a new direction, melting with progressive house influences & electro trance. Characteristically evading categorisation, John B once again raises the bar for dnb production, taking on the genre and resetting it with a tune that seeps with the style of Eric Prydz, Deep Dish and Deadmau5. It has already defined and loaded the atmosphere at Johns high profile gigs such as Ultra, The WMC & The Starscape Festival in the USA & Pirate Station events in Russia. Quite simply this is both John B at his best, and how youve never seen him before.
In Dancing in the Dark John B takes a characteristic flip and wires into a harder, heavier sound. Mashing distorted beats and siren sounds this tune thrashes out some seriously gritty dance floor friendly drum and bass. Well we say friendly, but this is a nasty cut up dnb anthem; with distorted vox that smacks of Boys Noize, Justice et al. So dont let the trancey epic intro/break fool you, this tune will drop with head smashing consequences. Its a real crowd pleaser, thats proud to be angry...
Big Shot Magazine Review John B - When The Time Comes / Dancing In The Dark / Numbers 4/5
D&B's own '80s pop star is back, and he's more electro than ever. Slipping a selection of influences into a cracking set of tracks here, Monsieur B keeps you guessing at every turn. 'When The Time Comes' rocks out with some arpeggiated goodness and electro-esque drums before melding itself with progressive house and trance to create a twisting monster of a tune. 'Dancing In The Dark' takes things to the next level with a dirtier and altogether heavier sound, but still retaining that aloof electro attitude. Finally 'Numbers' completes the package, although this one will only be available as a Beatport exclusive. Skipping drum patterns and interspersed bass cuts mingle nicely, rubbing shoulders with more of that progressive outlook. Nice work John.
Dogsonacid.com Review
Simply put, John B has the electrostep on lock. 'When The Time Comes' starts out simple enough, with an ascending melody bubbling to a boil, but instead of the normal boisterous funk that John has been known to drop as of late, this tune tops into a calm workout, never getting too crazy, yet still keeping you deep within the groove. Sounds like the perfect track that skillful DJs can work into some fabulous blends! For those who are looking for something to blast while playing arcade games, 'Dancing In The Dark' is just what the doctor ordered. Once that 'dancing in the dark' sample comes in, this one is going nowhere but into the gutter, and emerges as a DnB anthem that's both sick and thick. John B definitely has an array of sounds in his sampler, and knows how to work varying vibes into his sound. And for those who are copping this track on MP3, Beatport has an exclusive track, the melodic-synth rinser 'Numbers', that you can grab as well.
2. JOHN B ON BBC RADIO 1 NEXT WEEK!
John B will be a guest on BBC Radio 1 on the In New DJs We Trust show with Nerm & D-Code on Friday August 15th, 2-4am (Saturday morning). We're told he'll be doing a b2b mix with Dubstep superstar DJ Skream, and being interviewed by the guys... Nice one!

If you hadn't already noticed, we've massively revamped the John B blog & podcast with new layouts and features. His myspace is monstrous as usual, and the first port of call to check out where he'll be playing live over the coming months.
We're back safe from Edinburgh - had a great time on Saturday playing for the Obscene guys. Took Hayley with me, and managed to have time to check out the Castle and some of the fringe stuff on Sunday afternoon. Rock on!
Apologies for all the jingles - have to protect the new unreleased stuff obviously... Anyway, hope you like it.

Just finished recording the new August 2008 studio mix, and its blatently my best yet. Managed to span all different styles of DnB I'm really feeling at the moment, really nice & positive summer vibes in there - along with some mad electro/bootybass/ghettotech thrown into the mix in the middle...
Will be uploading this afternoon, those subscribed to the podcast will get it first - then I'll gradually announce the upload elsewhere to save my internetz mega bandwidth trauma.
Oh, and I've just set myself up on twitter now too - there's a little box in the sidebar for all the little updates you can do with it - I'll be updating it randomly via text from my phone while away at the weekend and stuff - hopefully - and intergrating it into my facebook/myspace etc too.
Next big thing on the horizon is a total redesign of my websites - I'm planning on separating john-b.com and beta-recordings.com rather than have them just pointing at the same place. Watch this space... (And of course any suggestions, or assistance greatly appreciated)
